Beta Terms of Service

Last updated: July 12, 2026

These Beta Terms govern the hosted Piyaz service at app.piyaz.ai, operated by the Piyaz team, for the duration of the beta. If you self-host Piyaz, these terms do not apply to your deployment: you set your own terms with your own users. The Piyaz software itself is licensed separately (see LICENSE / LICENSING.md).

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using the hosted Piyaz service (the "Service"), you agree to these Beta Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization. You must be at least 16 years old.

The Service is operated by the Piyaz team ("Piyaz", "we", "us"). A formal operating entity has not yet been established; see the Legal Notice. Contact: legal@piyaz.ai.

When you create or use a team on the Service, the Data Processing Agreement ("DPA") is incorporated into these Terms by reference for that team's use of the Service. The team owner accepts the DPA on the team's behalf when creating the team.

2. Beta status of the Service

The Service is offered as a beta: an early-stage product still under active development. It is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. It may contain bugs, errors, and incomplete features; it may behave unexpectedly, lose or corrupt data, or become unavailable. You use the Service at your own risk and are responsible for maintaining your own backups of anything important to you.

We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, and we may change or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time. We will give reasonable advance notice of changes that materially and adversely affect you where we can.

3. Fees: free during beta

The Service is currently free of charge. We may introduce paid plans or fees in the future. We will not start charging you without giving you prior notice and the choice to stop using the Service before any fee applies. Continuing to use a paid feature after a fee takes effect means you agree to that fee.

4. Your account

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for activity under your account. Notify us at legal@piyaz.ai if you suspect unauthorized use. We process your account data as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service unlawfully or to infringe others' rights;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
  • upload malware, or content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you have no right to share;
  • use the Service to store special-category personal data (Art. 9 GDPR) or to process others' personal data unlawfully.

6. Agents and connected tools

Piyaz is built to be used by coding agents and other automated tools that you connect over MCP or the API and authorize to act on your workspace. For those connections:

  • Their actions are your actions. Anything done in your workspace by an agent, harness, or tool that you or your team authorized, including creating, editing, deleting, or overwriting content, is attributed to the authorizing account, and these Terms apply to it as if you did it yourself.
  • We do not control them. Agents, AI models, and the harnesses that run them are third-party software. We do not control their behavior or output, and we are not responsible for what they do with the access you grant them, including corrupted, fabricated, deleted, or misstated content in your workspace.
  • AI output can be wrong. Content produced by AI tools may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Review what your agents write to your workspace before relying on it.
  • You can revoke access at any time. Manage and revoke authorized agent sessions in your settings, and revoke tokens for tools you no longer use or trust.
  • Back up what matters. As Section 2 says, keep your own backups; we cannot restore content an authorized tool changed or deleted beyond the Service's normal features.

7. Your content and intellectual property

  • Your content stays yours. You retain all rights to the projects, tasks, decisions, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you.
  • Our software stays ours. We (and our licensors) own all rights in the Service and its software, design, and trademarks, except for rights expressly granted under the separate open-source license in LICENSE / LICENSING.md. Nothing here transfers ownership of the software to you beyond that license.
  • Feedback. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use them to improve the Service, with no obligation to you.

8. Copyright and content complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright or other rights, email legal@piyaz.ai with enough detail to identify the content and your rights in it. We will review it and, where appropriate, remove the content, and we may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

9. Confidentiality of non-public features

Some beta features may be non-public. If we identify a feature as confidential, you agree not to disclose non-public information about it (such as screenshots of unreleased functionality) until it is publicly released.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g., intellectual property, disclaimer, liability, and indemnity) survive.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that data will not be lost. This disclaimer does not exclude or limit any warranty or liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law (see Section 12).

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and reflecting that the Service is provided free of charge during the beta:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Service.
  • For damages not excluded above, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim (during the free beta: zero) and EUR 100.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including (where applicable law so provides) liability for intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, under product-liability statutes, or for breach of obligations essential to the contract, where liability for the latter may be capped to typical and foreseeable damage.

13. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by mandatory law, you will hold us harmless from third-party claims arising out of your unlawful use of the Service or your breach of these Terms. This does not apply where the claim results from our intent or gross negligence.

14. Data export and switching

You can export your account data in a machine-readable format (see the Privacy Policy), and your project content remains accessible to you through the Service so you can take it with you at any time. We do not impose switching barriers or charge export fees during the beta.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

Because the operating entity has not yet been established, these Terms do not yet designate a governing law or forum. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence apply regardless of anything in these Terms. A future version of these Terms will designate governing law and jurisdiction.

16. General terms

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and, where it applies, the Data Processing Agreement, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service and replace any prior agreements on that subject.
  • Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stays in full force.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to the operating entity once it is formed, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets; we will give you notice if we do. Any other attempted assignment is void.
  • Third-party services. The Service can connect to third-party tools you choose (such as coding-agent clients). We are not responsible for those services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms. Section 6 applies to what they do in your workspace.
  • Export and sanctions. You confirm you are not located in, and will not use the Service from, a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions, and that you are not on any applicable sanctions or denied-party list. You agree not to use the Service in violation of applicable export-control or sanctions laws.
  • Force majeure. We are not liable for any delay or failure to provide the Service caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of our infrastructure providers.
  • Notices. We may send you notices about the Service by email to your account address or in-app, and you agree to receive them electronically. Legal notices to us must go to legal@piyaz.ai.
  • Survival. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination do, including Sections 7 (content and IP), 11 (disclaimer), 12 (liability), and 13 (indemnity).

17. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms at any time and will update this page when we do; the date at the top reflects the current version. We will notify you of material changes, such as the end of the beta or the introduction of paid plans, at least 30 days before the change takes effect, by posting a notice in the Service or sending an email to the address on your account. For a material change we will also ask you to actively re-accept the new Terms in the Service before you continue using it; silence is not treated as acceptance. For any other modification, your continued use of the Service constitutes agreement to the revised Terms.
